Frequently Asked Questions
Tickets
- Choose from VIP (limited) and Adult General Admission tickets.
- Children 13 and under are FREE (ticket required, children must be accompanied by at least one adult with paid admission.)
- Advanced ticket sales only. All tickets available for purchase online only.
- Wrist bands will be mailed out in advance of the event. Please ensure your address is accurate when purchasing tickets.
- EACH attendee MUST have a wrist band to enter.
- Each attendee/household will receive a packet prior to the event via mail. Packets will contain wrist bands, event information, and directions to their assigned parking location. Assigned parking locations are based on the ticket and/or parking pass purchase.
VIP Passes
- Murray Fest Midwest is offering a limited number of VIP tickets!
- VIP passes include all items listed above, plus all items listed under General Admission.
- VIP Passes include one premium onsite parking pass — Limit one per family/household.
Parking
- Each attendee/household will receive a packet prior to the event via mail. Packets will contain wrist bands, event information, and directions to their assigned parking location. Assigned parking locations are based on the ticket and/or parking pass purchase.
- FREE offsite parking with shuttle is included with all Adult General Admission passes.
- Limited paid onsite parking spots are available and will be sold on a first come, first served basis.
- VIP tickets include one onsite parking spot per family/household.
- A limited number of disabled parking spots will be available on a first come, first served basis. Contact the Murray Fest Midwest staff at murrayfest@mcmurrayhatchery.com for information and availability.
McMurray Hatchery VIP Tours
For the first time, McMurray Hatchery is offering a limited number of tours for VIP ticket holders. See below for important notes regarding the tours:
- Biosecurity is of the utmost importance at McMurray Hatchery. To ensure a safe and clean environment at the hatchery, all visitors will be required to wear PPE such as shoe/boot coverings and disposable coveralls. All PPE will be provided by the hatchery.
- Tours tickets will not be sold separately, and are only available to VIP ticket holders.
- Tour participants will receive detailed information — including tour times — via mail with their wristband and parking packet.
- Tour visitors must follow all guidelines and remain with their assigned group at all times.
- A shuttle will be available to transport tour participants to and from the Hamilton County Fairgrounds. Parking is not available at the hatchery due to space limitations and biosecurity.
Chick Sale
McMurray Hatchery will be hosting a chick sale on Monday morning, July 1st. We will release more information on the chick sale, in the meantime see below for answers to some common questions:
- The Murray Fest Midwest chick sale is a first come, first served sale.
- The chick sale will include a wide variety of breeds, however specific breeds cannot be reserved ahead of time or guaranteed.
- Sorry, chicks from the sale cannot be shipped. The chick sale was was developed due to the Fourth of July holiday landing in the middle of the week, which affects our ability to ship chicks that week. If you are flying to the festival, we recommend placing your order as normal via our website. For those driving, chicks from the sale will be packed in our normal shipping boxes and will be fine to travel home with you in the car.
- Payment for chicks can be made via cash or credit card.
Refunds
All tickets to Murray Fest Midwest are nonrefundable. Murray Fest Midwest is not responsible for reselling tickets, or for issues arising from the resale of tickets.

Weather
- Murray Fest Midwest will be held June 29-July 1, 2024 rain or shine.
- Three of the four stages at the Hamilton County Fairgrounds will be held indoors in air-conditioned buildings.
- Weather in Iowa can vary — sometimes by the hour! We recommend planning accordingly for all types of weather including heat and rain.
FESTIVAL POLICIES
Local and National Media:
Murray Fest Midwest welcomes qualified journalists and media. We ask that all media interested in covering the festival in person register in advance of the event. Press passes may be requested by completing the form above, or contacting Murray McMurray Hatchery public relations at 800.456.3280. Press passes for the event are limited. Requests will be evaluated, vetted, and approved on a case by case basis. Prior approval is required for interviews with speakers and/or staff. Approved media will be contacted by the festival media team. Murray Fest Midwest and Murray McMurray Hatchery thanks all medea in advance as we work to ensure a safe and positive environment for our speakers, attendees, and staff.
Dignitaries, Politicians, and Officials
Murray Fest Midwest is a safe environment with attendees from diverse backgrounds and demographics. We kindly request all guests and community leaders refrain from engaging in any political campaiging, marketing, and promotion during the event.
